Barbara LeBoss started Lunch Bunch in December 2000, at the Yachats Commons in the kitchen. As it grew in popularity it moved into the multi-purpose room. In the beginning the  Angell Job Corps Culinary Arts program provided the monthly meals. When the Culinary Arts program ended the current concept of Guest Chefs was born.

A couple of years before COVID the event moved to the Yachats Lions Hall until COVID ended the monthly luncheon. In December 2023 the Lunch Bunch was reborn with the Yachats Lions Club and as of the end of 2024 it has returned to serving 50-60 people each month. It is open to all ages, and no one will be turned away from a hot meal.

Lunch Bunch occurs on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Yachats Lions Hall with the doors opening at 1130a and lunch at 12n. A donation of $5 is asked to offset the cost of the meal. Since it is now a Lions Service event, we also hold a monthly 50/50 raffle that supports the  Gales Creek Camp which is for children with Type 1 Diabetes.
